I am ...Oh, I am so ready/not ready for the finale!! I am so excited to see what Weiner throws at us (could honestly be ANYTHING), but at the same time, I will be so sad to let this show go. Miiiight have to go back and start from the beginning again.brigidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05540829704914848803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3883970092765312318.post-40785940327998490742015-05-15T07:04:15.192-06:002015-05-15T07:04:15.192-06:00Oooooh man. I recognized the song on the car radio...Oooooh man. I recognized the song on the car radio in the first scene as "Okie from Muskogee" right off....and then realized the radio station was playing out of OKC. Don was in my homeland, lol! Ever since we've been talking about the religious symbolism in these last few shows, I picked up too that the motel was "The Sharon Motel" or something along those lines. The land of "Sharon" in the Bible is a section of rich and fertile farmland where many crops were grown-- the land of milk and honey? Oh, the symbolism, lol!

I was glad Don finally got to share and be honest with fellow Vets, but sad by how that all ended up. Them coming for him in the night like that! And Im pretty sure thats not legal for a hotel to let thugs into your room? lol!

As for Betty....I am sad for her. I never gave up on poor Betty, because I could see how she was molded by the people around her and the era she lived in. She seemed to JUST be coming around to trying to understand Sally and maybe have more calm and perspective with her children--- and now she's dying!?! I've got the total sads about that! I wished so much in that last scene with Sally she would have hugged her and comforted her. But I was struck by her standing in the doorway of the dark room looking at Sally much as she was in the first scene we ever saw of Betty in Mad Men, when Don came home to kiss his kids good night and there she stood. Perhaps full circle in a way?

I cant wait to see the finale.....I need to buy some tissue.....
;)Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01162985502341523594noreply@blogger.com
